Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning (or simply Baldi's Basics) is an American free-to-play survival horrorindie video game. It was released on March 30, 2018 for PC. The player must find their friend's seven notebooks that are spread throughout the school, without being caught by their teacher, Baldi, and being hindered by the other students and faculty.[2]
The game was initially made as an entry in the annual Meta-Game Jam, where it received 2nd place.[3] It became popular for its humor-like difficulty and strange-looking levels.[4] Popular YouTubers such as Markiplier made videos showing themselves playing the game.[5]
The developer launched a Kickstarter for the game, asking the public for money. The developer announced that the full game would be released sometime in late 2019 or early 2020. The Kickstarter, as of February 4, 2019, had raised a total US$61,375.[6]
On August 13, 2019, the Baldi's Basics full game demo was released for the public.
An enhanced Kickstarter Exclusive Demo came out on November 5, 2019.
On March 31, 2020, Baldi's Basics Plus was announced in itch.io. The early access trailer was posted on May 9, 2020 and it was released for early access on June 12, 2020.

In the YouTube comedy channel, The Annoying Orange, Baldi and four other characters became a recurring characters since the Let’s Play videos for the game on the Annoying Orange Gaming channel and the upload of the episode, “Annoying Orange vs. Baldi,” on September 3, 2018, when Orange attends Baldi’s math class and annoys Baldi himself. As a recurring character, Baldi appeared in many Annoying Orange episodes and challenge videos voiced by Daneboe. He also appeared as a hack in the gaming videos for Toca Kitchen 2, Untitled Goose Game, Sticky Bodies, and Turbo Dismount. He also appears as a character in an upcoming episode of AYCMS.

This game is very helpful for children to learn basic mathematics. The background story of this game is that your friend left behind his seven notebooks at school. And the main character needs to go back to school and find back those seven notebooks. But their teacher Baldi like to ask them to answer questions. And each time the main character find one of the notebooks, he needs to answer three questions. Of course, there would be one coin rewarded for each correctly answered question. But if the question is wrongly answered, the main character would be chased after by their teacher Baldi. The bad news is that you might be stopped by the school Bully when you are running for your life. And sometimes there might appear a girl who is jumping the rope. She would ask you to jump rope with her for ten times. Even if this is time-consuming, but you have to do it. Of course, there are also some ways available for you to slowing your teacher down. For example, you can buy B soda water from the vending machine. By throwing this soda water at your teacher, you can slow her down and quiet her anger.
