Apple's latest entry to its operating system line is macOS Catalina. Read about the features, applications, and security updates that come with macOS 10.15. The Marzipan Initiative. The goal of the Marzipan initiative isn’t just for Apple to bring more apps to the Mac by allowing developers to port their apps. Later next year, the company will also introduce a new set of developer tools with shared assets across iOS and macOS, with the hopes of developers coding one application for all platforms. In other words, the Mac is a dead end in the long run for 80% of the population if not more. Why so many iOS developers would love to see Xcode being built on iPad then? They want to remove friction in the process of building apps. Having to write, compile and test an iOS application on the Mac is a process that will be eliminated eventually.
