  1. We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow us.
  2. Overall I enjoyed it, but it really does lack polish. On the page it says that melee has been reworked, but it's still pretty useless. The level and enemy designs are cool, but it's hard to appreciate the former with the default colour scheme, because soo much of the screen has the same colour that you sometimes can't even see bridges you need to walk across.
  3. Pudding takes a commute and chats with a passenger. Here's my playthrough. The only thing negative that I have to say about the game is that whenever you get the Friend and the Love endings, you get the line 'I would love to keep in contact with a friend' (or something like that) and I feel that you should get a different line because when I played through this it felt weird to have him say.
  • No recharging shields: you'll need to play smart or find healthpacks to stay alive. You're not invincible, after all.
  • Wild Weird West: features an acidic western soundtrack, composed just for Midnight Ultra!
  • Choose a melee weapon and a ranged weapon of your choice: mix and match, choose between chopping and blasting your enemies down to size.
  • Change how the game looks to fit your taste: unlockable color palettes change how Midnight Ultra looks entirely. BONUS: Halloween color palette unlocked at start
  • Double jump and dodge your enemies: your fast and nimble feet will let you leap across levels, over enemies heads, and between platforms.
  • Moody and surreal story: not everything is at it seems, and the physical trappings of reality aren't always guaranteed...
  • Short and sweet: 2-3 hours of gameplay content, for busy players looking for quick fun.

Often the player finds themself in a huge room with ranged enemies attacking you from god-knows-where. Thats why I had to turn the filters off to see important stuff. Moreover it would be nice to be able to hear enemies coming before they get you. As it stands, there's also no incentive to actually explore the levels because you lose all of your collected ammo anyway. So yeah, I'm conflicted when it comes to this game, but the music, story, dlc, and bosses were all pretty good.

With an OST as acid washed as its graphics, the game oozes style. Unfortunately, this doesn't 100% make up for melee not working for the player or their enemies. I still recommend you give it a try, just make sure to pick the fireball option from your arsenal.

Overall I did enjoy the game. Loved the look and tone. Melee combat was completely busted for me though. Both myself and enemies never had luck with the melee. Felt way to random and didn't work 99 times out of 100. Once learning that there was a 'melee' weapon that was a projectile I had way more fun with the game.

I think it's worth the price for a fun short game. can be very jank at times but for the most part, enjoyable.

Is there an option in the settings to change controls? I launched this excited to play, but movement is defaulted to the arrow keys and jump is space. I don't know how that's supposed to work without having an 8 inch pinky finger. Other than that I had a good time with this game.

This is truly bizarre because the default controls ARE WASD. What platform are you on?

Pretty sweet little game, melee seems to be a little broken, but beyond that the game works great, and has really cool aesthetics and design. Would love to see a follow up or more from the developer, with a little polish this could be up there with some other great indie FPS games

Latest version on Linux appears to be lacking the video cutscenes, instead just showing a completely white screen until I hit the space bar. Reverted to version 1 and the videos played fine, so something went wrong between versions, it seems.

Thanks for letting us know about this - we don't have a Linux station to test on, so it's largely been a test of faith. We did upgrade Unity versions between releases and that unfortunately messed with lighting as well.

Cutscenes are still broken on linux, and also dual booting is a thing. You don't have to pay for linux.

Probably long overdue to be mentioning this, but we released on Mac about a year ago.

I really dig the style of this game. What else are you working on at the moment?

Midnight Remastered (itch) Mac Os Update

At the moment, fixes and additional content for this. We'll be announcing new titles next year, most likely.
